To listen to this blog post:

Perfectionism...the anchor that's weighing you down from your full potential.

There's a peculiar quirk in how you perceive perfectionism. You readily acknowledge that nobody's perfect, and find yourself striving for that unattainable level of flawlessness in your own endeavors.

"I'll keep working on it until it's ready."

“I only want to put my best work out there.”

You get caught in the all-or-nothing mentality. Perfectionism stealthily creeps in, disguised as a well-meaning guardian, attempting to shield you from judgment, rejection, and your own potential for excellence.

Yet, there is a way to break free from the suffocating embrace of perfectionism and propel yourself toward success. It's called practice.

When you engage in practice, the burden of perfect expectations dissipates. Instead, you can embark on a journey of experimentation and growth, fearlessly trying out new ideas and refining your skills.

Imagine the performers preparing for opening night. They practice their lines over and over again until they own them, speaking with authenticity and ease. Similarly, you can apply the same principle to your craft, honing your skills until they become second nature.

Consider the numerous skills you've mastered throughout your life: riding a bike, writing, tying shoelaces. Each began with a sense of awkwardness, like having two left feet, but with practice, they became effortless and natural.

What if you embrace practice as your ally on the road to excellence? Don't be fooled by that initial feeling of awkwardness—it's merely a call for focus and dedication. As coaches and consultants, you can create valuable content, grow our audience, and build our business by shedding the anchor of perfectionism and sailing confidently toward your full potential.
